BatteryThrottle

Effective date

Overview

BatteryThrottle is a macOS menu bar app for managing MacBook charging behavior. We do not sell personal data.

Data we process

  • Battery state and charging information read locally from your Mac so the app can display charge level and charging status.
  • User preferences such as your selected charge ceiling, top-up level, gentle-charge timing, and startup settings.
  • Shortcut-related state needed to trigger the required system Shortcut for charge-limit changes.

Data we do not collect

  • No account creation.
  • No analytics account or advertising profile.
  • No location tracking.
  • No camera, microphone, contacts, or photo library access.

How the app works

BatteryThrottle stores its settings on your Mac and uses local system interfaces, including the Shortcuts app, to request charge-limit changes. Battery status data is used locally to drive the app's behavior and interface.

Where data is stored

BatteryThrottle stores its settings and local state on-device. We do not operate a remote server that receives your battery telemetry or charge-control history.

Third parties

  • Apple system services such as Shortcuts may be invoked when you use the app's charging actions.
  • No third-party advertising or analytics SDKs are used on this website or required for core app behavior.

Data retention and deletion

You can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app and its associated settings from your Mac.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
